Newly Added to the Rudhyar Archival Project

THE MAGIC OF TONE and the Art of Music by Dane Rudhyar.
The Rudhyar Archival Project is pleased to bring you this long-awaited title. Out-of-print since 1987, The Magic of Tone will be issued free online. Serious interest in Rudhyar's pioneering work as a composer is growing rapidly. This title is Rudhyar's last word (written in 1982, three years before his passing) on Sound, Tone, Music and the Rhythm of Civilization and Culture.

Dane Rudhyar, though best known for his astrological work, was also, in addition to being a noted painter, poet and the premiere philosopher of Wholeness, one of the most important avant-garde composers of the 20th Century. At the age of 22, his music was performed at the New York Metropolitan Opera House as a part of a futuristic, multimedia performance of Métachorie. Friend and associate of Edgard Varése, Henry Cowell, Charles Ives, Martha Graham and others, Rudhyar is today regarded as the "spokesman and high priest" of the Ultra-Modern composers of the 1920s.
Now, as the music of Rudhyar is finally gaining recognition, CyberWorld Khaldea will soon add The Magic of Tone and the Art of Music to the online Rudhyar Archival Project.
