The KhaldeaCalendar makes it easy to benefit from Lunation Planning — a natural, organic time-management system based on the 29.5-day Lunation Cycle, the ever-changing cyclic relationship between the Sun and the Moon. Everyone, in their own way, naturally feels and performs better when they are attuned with its rhythm. When guided by this natural cycle, our projects and endeavors — be they long-term or short-term, acted out by an individual or by a group — are more successful and rewarding. Lunation Planning is the world's oldest time-management tool. Lunation Planning is universal, it is deeply rooted in all cultures and religions. It is the foundation of virtually all ancient calendars, including the Hebrew, Islamic and the Chinese calendars.

Lunation Planning isn't going to save the world. We have to change our attitudes ourselves, but Lunation Planning can help us attune ourselves to a more relaxed, natural and harmonious pulse of living, which in turn may lead to a gradual change of attitude toward ourselves and toward the world.

4. What's New

Year 2016 brings version 2 of the KhaldeaCalendar. Some of the new features and enhancements found in version 2 are outlined above, and they are summarized below.

User Enhancements
The calendar grid features improved graphics and an extended astrological data section. See the "Symbols" section for a key to the astrological symbols and colors used. Previous users will notice some important changes to the colors used on the calendar grid. Waning aspects are now indicated by blue glyphs, replacing dark red. Retrograde planets in aspect are now shown in red. Solar ingress are no longer highlighted.

Version 2 is faster and easier to use. Months of the year are now navigated via interactive tabs, and the entire year is wrapped in a single web page. It's also easier for online users to change time zone — just use the dropdown list beneath the calendar grid to jump to any of 14 time zones worldwide. And this year Hawaii and Nepal have been added to the list.

The digital Khaldea Astrological Calendar has been repackaged for version 2 — it now includes art, verse and an ephemeris upgrade. Use the new control panel described above to easily access it all. Just click on a icon to expand or contract an "accordion panel." It's easier to use than to read about. As a special bonus, version 2 features daily geocentric longitudes, latitudes and declinations from the KhaldeaEphemeris7z.

KhaldeaTechnology
KhaldeaCalendar version 2 is produced by KhadeaTechnology's scalable vector graphics engine that creates astrological images in several vector and raster formats, including .pdf, .svg, .wmp,. tiff, .png, .jpg, and .gif. The digital Khaldea Astrological Calendar uses .png raster images.

The KhaldeaCalendar module of KhaldeaTechnology is "theme-based" and Unicode compliant — making it's output highly customizable. It can use any aspect set (within constrains of space), or show no aspects; show phases, or no phases; any holiday or event can be displayed. Language modules and unicode enables any language, any script. For print work, press-ready pdf files for entire calendars can produced, as seen in this example.

Version 2 is developed with powerful, yet time-tested web technologies which should render and function well with most contemporary devices and web browsers. Javascript is required. Please report issues to qc@khaldea.com

Important Note regarding using the standalone version with tablets and mobile devices. The Khaldea Astrological Calendar standalone app may not function in your default mobile browser, and it will not function with default "HTML Viewer" apps. For instance, Chrome for Android/Mobile works well with the online version of the Calendar, but the standalone Calendar controls will not function properly with Chrome for Android/Mobile. Additionally, Amazon's Kindle Silk browser is inadequate, and Kindle and older models of Kindle Fire do not permit the installation of a suitable third-party browser, including the two recommendations below. After testing the standalone app on tablets and mobile devices with a several browsers, we strongly recommend using only FireFox or Dolphin browsers for Android or iOS with the standalone KhaldeaCalendar app.

Installing the Standalone Version

1. Download the Khaldea Calendar standalone file for your time zone. The standalone editions of the digital Khaldea Calendar consist of zip files delivered to you over the Internet. To download a copy, simply select the your time zone from the dropdown list above. After submitting the short form, you will immediately receive an email with protected download link. Download the zip file and save it to a folder or location on your computer, tablet or device.

2. Unzip the .zip file. Before you can use the Calendar files, you'll need to unzip the downloaded file, which should have a name similar to: "kc2016***.zip", where "***" refers to your time zone acronym. If you are using a PC or MAC, your machine probably has a unzip utility. Unzip the file now, go to step 3 below and follow the instructions for PC and MAC users.

If you wish to use the standalone edition on a Kindle, Android, tablet, smartphone or other device, there are two easy ways to load the Calendar. If you have installed a zip app on your device, such as the free EasyUnrar app, simply email the zip file as an attachment, then open the email, download and save the zip file to your device — Kindle will automatically save the file to the "Documents" folder. Then simply go to the folder and unzip the file in the usual manner.

If you don't have a zip app installed on your Kindle or other device, download the Calendar zip file to a PC, MAC or Linux computer, unzip it and sideload the unzipped files to the device according to the easy instructions to the right for Kindle and Android installations.

3. Using the Standalone Calendar

PC, Windows, MAC and Linux Users.

After unzipping the downloaded file and saving the contents in a folder or location on your computer you can easily find, next go to the file directory where the unzipped files are located — probably in the "downloads" folder. You will notice a new folder named "kc2016***" (where "***" refers to your time zone). Inside the folder you will find a file named "kc2016***.html" - this is your main file or the Calendar. It is important that you do not rename any of the folders and files contained in the "kc2016***" folder. If you wish to move the files to another directory or device, it is important to keep all filenames and the hierarchical relationship between the .html file and the folder, so copy or move the entire folder intact.

4. Open the main file You may create a desktop shortcut for the "kc2016***.html" file. Shortcut and destop icons suitable for most devices may be find in the "kc2016***/assets" subfolder.

Take it with you! The standalone Calendar will also run from a flash drive or a SD Card.

KINDLE & ANDROID Installations

Follow the steps below if you wish to sideload the Calendar files to your Kindle or Android device.

1. Connect your Kindle device to your computer: Plug the larger end of a USB cable into an available USB port or a powered USB hub connected to your computer. Your wireless service is temporarily shut off and you will not receive any of your subscriptions while in this mode. Also, your Kindle device is not usable as a reading device while you are in USB drive mode, but will return to where you were when you eject the Kindle device from your computer.

2. Transfer Files. Once connected to a computer using a USB cable, your Kindle device will appear in the same location as external USB drives usually appear. For Windows users, this is typically in the "Computer" or "My Computer" menu. For Mac users, the drive will appear on the desktop. Open the Kindle drive. You will see several folders inside, one of which will be named "documents." This is the folder you will move the downloaded file.

Locate the unzipped downloaded file and folder and copy them into the documents folder. You can generally copy files by clicking and dragging the file to the folder. Safely eject your Kindle device from your computer and unplug the USB cable.

3. Open the main file. You are now ready to start using the standalone Khaldea Calendar. Using the Kindle or Android FileManager, go to the "Downloads" directory (or the location you sideloaded the files to). You should see the the "kc2016***" folder listed.
